Located just 10 minutes from Chiang Mai city centre and within the Lanna Sports Centre, Lanna Golf Club covers an area of 700 rai. Being one of the first golf courses built in Thailand, Lanna is very popular with local Thais. The course is kept in pretty good, but not immaculate condition. The course comprises three flattish nine-hole courses.  The first and second nine make up the Old Course and feature holes with fairways divided by mature trees.  Several lakes and many strategically placed bunkers add to the challenge. The best holes are 11th which plays as a par-4 and has a narrow fairway with water flanking the left side. The 16th is also a good hole and requires a perfectly hit approach shot to reach the green in regulation and set up an easy par. The clubhouse is quite dated and nothing special, however, the price of food and drinks is very reasonable.
