Dancoon Golf Club

This 18-hole, par 72 golf course is conveniently located 10 minutes-drive from Khon Kaen airport and 15 kilometers from Khon Kaen city centre. Opened in 2008, Dancoon Golf Club was the first international visitor-friendly golf course in Thailand’s north eastern Issan region. In 2010, it hosted 2010 the Asian Seniors competition.
The course is defined by two different halves. The front 9 holes with wide fairways and flat greens and the back 9 holes with more challenging, yet interesting holes. The fairways are generous and of a reasonable standard, although be warned that some bare patches can be found, particularly in the ‘dry season’, between November and May.
Water hazards feature on 10 holes, including the signature 11th hole, a par 3 where you drive to an island green. Built on what was originally farmland, the course is quite open and flat, although this will undoubtedly improve as the course matures.
The clubhouse and attached hotel have all the usual facilities; large locker rooms with plenty of showers, and an extensive range of food and drink served in a pleasant open restaurant/bar area.
