Royal Creek Golf Club and Resort is an 18-hole, par-72 international standard golf course, 20 minutes from Udon Thani’s international airport and 15 minutes-drive from the city center. As the first international standard golf resort in the Issan region, Royal Creek Golf Club and Resort is a unique offering. Designed by a local Thai company, the course was built on rice paddy fields, incorporating many man-made lakes, creeks and reservoirs. You are advised to bring plenty of balls as the chances of losing a couple in the many water hazards are high! Fairways are seeded with Zoysia grass and greens with Bermuda grass. The small sized greens and large bunker complexes add to the challenge, as straight hitting reaps greater rewards than big hitting at Royal Creek Golf Course. The signature hole is the 8th, an unusual par-3 surrounded by water with an adjacent island featuring one solitary tree – reminiscent of the famous 17th at TPC Sawgrass in the USA. The clubhouse restaurant is modern and stylish, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the course. Caddies and carts are compulsory. Royal Creek Golf Course is a welcome addition to the Issan golfing scene and will only improve with time.
