Mission Hills Golf Club Kanchanaburi

Mission Hills Country Club in Kanchanaburi is one of three Jack Niklaus designed Mission Hills courses in Thailand and it bears all the hallmarks of the great man. Located two thirds of the way between Bangkok and Kanchanaburi, the course is set among natural surroundings on a gently sloping hillside. The relatively flat fairways are excellently well-defined with large, mature palm trees lining the way. Expansive bunkers and large sandy waste areas are also much in play. Be sure to avoid the thick Bermuda grass near the bunkers to prevent double bogeys. With jungle-clad hills and rural countryside all around, this is a very scenic, golf oasis, in the middle of the River Kwai area. The course suffers from lack of maintenance at certain times of the year, so check conditions before playing. The large timber clad clubhouse offers up decent food. However, the on-site golf resort is probably best avoided as accommodation is average.
