Blue Star Golf Course is a local Thai designed course, 30 minutes from Kanchanaburi and 2 hours from Bangkok. Established in 2018, it is located between two other courses, the Grand Course and Blue Sapphire. All three courses are built on old mining sites, giving them similar design characteristics. This unique par-72 championship course meanders through valleys and lakes and incorporates steep cliffs and severe drop-offs in the layout. High scoring rounds are hindered by narrow greens and fairways, as well as small, deep bunkers next to several of the greens. Big-hitters are rewarded on this course, as the Paspalum grass fairways make rolls unlikely. The signature hole is the 6th, a tough par-4 ringed by five large bunkers – any player would be happy with a par here. Facilities at Blue Star Golf Club are adequate, however reflect the fact that it is mainly frequented by locals, rather than international golfers. If you are looking for an extreme golf challenge, rather than a highly manicured golf course, this is the perfect course for you!
