About 15 km south of Pattaya and comprising of three nine holes (ocean, lake and mountains),  Phoenix has matured well since its creation in the early 1990's. Designer Denis Griffith has allowed for stunning views of the islands to the west and of the giant gold Buddha to the south. Phoenix Gold Golf & Country Club was renovated in 2015 and has since hosted the Kings Cup (European Tour) and Thailand Open (Ladies European Tour) events in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Then in 2018, Pheonix Golf hosted both the Royal Cup (Asian Tour) and Ladies European Thailand Championship (LET).

Bunkers, fairways and greens are all in good condition, even if the surrounding areas are a little baron at times. There is a huge clubhouse, a  good practice area and well-managed pro-shop. Phoenix provides a good golfing challenge at a reasonable price, but be prepared for large group of Korean groups on the course in high season.
